What’s the difference between “original” Medicare and Medicare Advantage?

Whether you’re new to Medicare or have been enrolled for years, you
have many options for making the most of your Medicare benefits.

Medicare AdvantageLearn how Medicare Advantage:

  • Includes coverage for hospital and doctor visits, and usually prescription drugs, all in one plan.
  • Often provides “extras” such as vision and dental coverage, transportation to medical appointments, and more.
  • Usually has out-of-pocket costs that are lower than “original” Medicare.
  • Is offered by private companies that must be approved by Medicare and must follow rules set by Medicare.

What changes can you expect from Medicare as a result of the Affordable Care Act?

In 2014, Medicare beneficiaries will see some changes as a result of the
Affordable Care Act. Learn how the new law will impact your coverage.
