The Recovery Center

At the Recovery Center, our comprehensive programs can restore health, reunite families, and improve quality of life, self-respect, and dignity. Our experienced staff includes physicians, nurses, psychologists, family therapists, and addition specialists. Most importantly, our team knows that everyone is unique and requires individual treatment.

Through individual and family counseling, group therapy, and educational sessions, people learn to enjoy freedom from alcohol and drugs for a lifetime. We help them understand themselves, the disease, and how it affects family, friends, and others.

What is chemical dependency?

If you, or someone you know, is having problems with alcohol or drugs, our adult recovery program can help.

Program Background

The Recovery Center has been a part of the services offered to the community by Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula since 1983.

Recovery Center Program Components

Successful recovery involves developing new skills and behaviors, changing old attitudes, and learning to deal comfortably with the ups and downs of daily living.

The Recovery Center has programs designed to meet the needs of people experiencing problems with alcohol and/or drugs.

Partial Hospitalization Program

This program is for people who need a more structured setting and longer daily period of treatment.

The partial program meets Monday through Friday from 1 to 9 p.m.

Outpatient Program

This program is for people who need a less-intensive program and who may be working or attending school.

The outpatient program is offered Monday through Friday.

There are two time options in this program: 1 to 5 p.m. or 6 to 9 p.m.

Dual Disorders Program

Our dual disorders program is for people who are chemically dependent and also have a psychiatric diagnosis such as depression, anxiety, or bi-polar disorder.

Behavioral Health Services’ psychiatrists and therapists work with our treatment team to provide the optimal program for each participant.

The Dual Disorders Program follows the Monday through Friday 1 to 5 p.m. schedule with the exception of Tuesdays, when participants attend from 9 a.m. to noon.

Alternative/Safe Housing

This service is available through an arrangement with Beacon House, a local residential treatment program.

Outpatient Services

Most people receive outpatient care, although partial hospitalization and inpatient programs are sometimes needed for people undergoing detoxification. Each person's recovery plan is tailored by our experienced staff of substance-abuse specialists to meet individual needs. Following a structured recovery program, patients are encouraged to participate in our aftercare program to help them stay substance-free.
