Accreditation and CME

CME accreditation. Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association(IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CME credit designation. Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula designates this live activity for a maximum of 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education.

BRN and CNA CEU. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number BRN 11173, for 2 contact hours. Provider Number NAC 6096 for 2 CNA Contact hours.

PT CEU. Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula is recognized by the Physical Therapy Board of California to approve 2.0 CEU contact hours.

Cultural and linguistic competency. This activity is in compliance with California Assembly Bill 1195, which requires that all CME activities comprising a patient care element include curriculum addressing the topic of cultural and linguistic competency. The intent of this bill is to ensure that healthcare professionals are able to meet the cultural and linguistic concerns of a diverse patient population through effective and appropriate professional development. Cultural and linguistic competency was incorporated into the planning of this activity.

Speaker and planning committee disclosure. As a provider accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA), Community Hospital must ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in its educational activities. Program director(s), the planning committee, speakers, and all others who are in a position to control the content of this educational activity are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest. Speakers also will disclose any off-label and/or investigational use of pharmaceuticals or instruments discussed in their presentation. Disclosure of this information will be made to all participants at the symposium location prior to the educational activity commencement so participants in the activity may formulate their own judgments regarding the presentation.
