Teachers, counselors, social workers, healthcare professionals, and others who work with young people are invited to a training session to become a Griefbuster. Griefbusters:
- Provide one-on-one support for children, ages 4-18, who are experiencing the approaching death of a loved one or grieving someone who has already died
- Help during and/or after school following a school-wide crisis involving a death
- Griefbusters was started more than 20 years ago by Community Hospital’s Hospice of the Central Coast.
Once trained, Griefbusters volunteers are asked to provide 2-4 instances of support each year for Community Hospital's Griefbusters program.
Applicants must undergo a background check and receive a TB test and flu vaccine before the training, at no cost. Use the forms at the links below. For a flu vaccine, call (831) 625-4646. If you decline to have a flu vaccine, please complete the form indicating that.
