There is strength in knowledge.

At Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, we believe that continuing education is essential to maintaining the strength of our team. Whether through continuing educational courses or community resources, we are proud to help our employees obtain a well-rounded professional background that not only benefits the hospital and our patients, but also supports employees' long-term career and life goals.

Allied Health Preparatory Program
The Allied Health Preparatory Program is designed to provide employees with the opportunity to obtain a two-year associate's degree in one of the following specialties: radiation therapy, ultrasound technology, respiratory care therapy, nuclear medicine technology, radiologic technology, registered health information technician, and physical therapy assistant. The program offers employees loans of up to $30,000 a year for two years, as well as the possibility of 100-percent loan forgiveness upon completion of four years of Community Hospital employment in the area of specialty studied.

Educational Allowance
The Educational Allowance assists staff in attending either voluntary or hospital-required programs, seminars, workshops, and conferences. The allowance provides leave time and reimbursement of covered expenses, including registration, tuition, fees, books and supplies, and travel expenses. Full-time employees are eligible for up to $2,000 (depending on job requirements) in a two-year period.

Scholarship Reimbursement Plan
Staff who wish to acquire undergraduate or graduate degrees can take advantage of the hospital's Scholarship Reimbursement Plan, which provides full- and part-time employees with reimbursement of up to $2,250 per calendar year to pursue these educational endeavors. The plan may also be used for licensing, certification, credentialing exams, and review courses for an employee's current or anticipated Community Hospital position.
