Controlling rapidly rising healthcare costs is a challenge faced by all employers in today's business world. As a local healthcare provider, we are in a unique position to collaborate with employers to help combat these significant costs. By collaborating on our "Working Well Initiative," we can help control these costs and collectively achieve a healthier community.

The Working Well Initiative offers a wide array of services, most of which can be offered at the work site. The wellness options include health education, screening services, disease management programs, weight-loss and nutrition education, ergonomics, executive physicals, health risk appraisals, individual health reports, and many other choices that help promote wellness for your employees. Employers that participate in this program may experience a reduction in healthcare insurance claims and utilization. Studies have shown that wellness programs offered at the work site can have a positive impact on employee issues such as morale, turnover, absenteeism, and workers' compensation claims. Many components of the Working Well Initiative are funded by Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula; other components that incur a fee are optional and charged at cost.

Working Well Initiative utilizes the following components:

Workforce Health Profile
A "health snapshot" of the workforce that helps employers:
  • Compare the health of your workforce to others in the market
  • Identify the specific health risks present in your workforce and address these risks before they generate significant claims
  • Map trends over time of the improvements in the health of your workforce
Personal Health Report
A customized health-risk assessment designed to inform employees of their personal health risks and detail how they can achieve better health through specific lifestyle changes.
On-Site Screening Services
Prevention and Education Services
Community Hospital can coordinate on-site screenings, body fat measurements, and health education seminars targeted to the specific health needs of your workforce.
HR Insight
HRInsight is an internet-based financial analysis tool that enables employers:
  • Understand the health risks faced by workers
  • Project how healthcare dollars will be spent
  • Identify potential savings through the attainment of a healthier workforce
