Blood donations needed especially during the holidays

MONTEREY, Calif. - Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula is encouraging community members to consider making a blood donation as a gift. Donors who would like to give blood in someone's name or memory will be given a card to send to the honoree or their family. The holiday blood drive continues through the end of the year, and the Blood Center will give away 2010 pocket calendars and have drawings for prizes including gift certificates to local restaurants and movies.
The easiest way to donate blood is by calling 625-4814 to make an appointment. Drop-ins are also welcome. The Blood Center is at the Hartnell Professional Center, 576 Hartnell Street, Suite 100, across from the post office in Monterey.
