MONTEREY , Calif. — Jerome Hester, MD, of Stanford University , a specialist in sleep medicine, will talk about treatments for sleep disorders at a free forum on Wednesday, April 22 at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
Hester is a head and neck surgeon with more than 15 years of experience treating sleep disorders, which afflict an estimated 40 million Americans. He will talk about surgical and non-surgical treatments and take questions from the audience.
The program is part of the regular monthly meeting of AWAKE — Alert, Well, and Keeping Energized — a support group for people with sleep apnea, one of the most common sleeping disorders. It is open to the public, including family members of those who suffer from sleep problems, as well as healthcare providers. The event is from 7-8:30 p.m. in the main conference room B at Community Hospital , 23625 Holman Highway , Monterey.
