MONTEREY, Calif. — Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula is pleased to announce a partnership with Marina Public Library.
A $20,000 hospital sponsorship has helped create a “Community Hospital Corner” at the library, which currently features 228 books and 24 DVDs, all designed to provide health education and awareness. The books include adult and children’s books in English, Spanish, Korean, and Vietnamese. Community Hospital’s donation also helped with the purchase of a desktop video magnifier and monitor.
“We are very excited to be partnering with the library in Marina,” said Community Hospital president and CEO Dr. Steven Packer. “We know it is very much a hub for teaching and learning. And with the upcoming opening of our Peninsula Wellness Center in Marina, as well as the availability of other hospital services — including primary care doctors — we will provide a continuum of health education, awareness, prevention, and treatment.”
