Ice cream giveaway in pint-for-a-pint blood drive starts Thursday

MONTEREY, Calif. — Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula's "pint-for-a-pint" blood drive, when everyone who donates blood receives a coupon for a free pint of Baskin-Robbins® ice cream.

The pint-for-a-pint giveaway is from Thursday, March 10 through St Patrick's Day, March 17, while coupons last. Donors may give at Community Hospital's Blood Center, open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays. Appointments are recommended by calling 625-4814 or e-mailing bloodcenter@chomp.org.

Coupons will also be given to those who donate at mobile blood drives held during the celebration. Upcoming drives are: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 10, Language Line Services, 1 Lower Ragsdale Drive, Building 2, Monterey; 8 a.m.-noon Friday, March 11, Portola Hotel & Spa, 2 Portola Plaza, Monterey; and 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13, Mission San Juan Bautista Parish, Casa Maria, 600 First St., San Juan Bautista.
