MARINA, Calif. — Seniors 60 and older are invited to check out free classes and take tours of Peninsula Wellness Center during National Senior Health & Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 29.

More than 1,000 fitness centers and other venues are taking part in the day, held for the last 20 years to focus on the importance of being health and fit as we age. This year’s theme is Get Moving…Start Improving!

“Our membership includes many seniors who have made a commitment to being active, whether it’s walking on a treadmill, taking an aqua-aerobics class, doing Zumba®, or any number of other activities,” says Kristine Drinovsky, general manager of Peninsula Wellness Center (PWC). “They are an inspiration to other members and to our fitness staff.”

Seniors are invited to PWC from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday (May 29) to try out classes including chair yoga, t’ai chi, Body, Balance and Flow, yoga, and Swing and Sway. They may also tour the center. PWC is at 2920 2nd Avenue in Marina, at Highway 1 and Imjin Parkway. A class schedule is available at http://www.peninsula-wellness-center.com/main/classes/. To register for the event, call 883-5656.

Peninsula Wellness Center is an affiliate of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
