Blood drives scheduled for May by Community Hospital

MONTEREY, Calif. — Blood drives are scheduled at four locations in May by Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, which collects blood specifically for use in our community.
The mobile blood drive schedule is: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., May 4, Congregation Beth Israel, 5716 Carmel Valley Road, Carmel; noon- 2 p.m., May 5, Keller Williams Realty, 26435 Carmel Rancho Blvd., Carmel; 9 a.m.-2 p.m., May 12, Monterey Peninsula College Health and Safety Fair, 980 Fremont St.; and 9 a.m.-noon, May 18, St. Jude’s Church, Knights of Columbus Council 7155, 3030 Hillcrest Ave., Marina.
Blood may also be donated at Community Hospital’s Blood Center, 576 Hartnell Dr., Monterey. Appointments are recommended; call 625-4814. Donors must be 17 or older, (16 with parental permission), and weigh at least 110 pounds. More information on donating blood may be found on Community Hospital’s web site, www.chomp.org.
