Air Quality

Our hearts go out to those affected by the Soberanes fire. Due to the smoke of the fire, air-quality has been compromised in most of Monterey County.

In response to increased smoke in the region, Community Hospital has added carbon filters to the hospital’s ventilation system and has closed doors to reduce toxins entering the facility.

Smoke can cause breathing issues, especially for those with respiratory conditions. In the below video, Dr. John Koostra, medical director of Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Wellness, offers guidance to reduce the impacts.
