Short stay surgery- What to pack
Please bring as little as possible when coming to the hospital, but be sure to include the following items: 
- Night clothes (avoid snaps and long gowns), bathrobe, and sturdy nonskid slippers or shoes if staying overnight
- Comfortable clothes to wear home
- Personal toiletry items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, comb or brush, deodorant, and razor, although these items are available at no charge during your stay
- A list of all medications you take (including prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and herbal remedies), including the dose, time of day, and reason for medication
- Details of illnesses, surgeries, and any allergies to medicines, foods, or environment
- Your health insurance or health plan card
- A list of the names and telephone numbers of family or friends to call if needed
- Your driver's license if you need to use notary services
Please put your name on personal items; this can prevent loss and help us identify missing items.
What not to pack
- Medicines
- Cash (except a few dollars if you wish to purchase items from our Gift Shop while you are here)
- Jewelry
- Credit cards
- Checkbook
- Electric shaver
- Hair dryer
- Curling iron
You may use only battery-operated personal items while you're in the hospital. If you have valuables with you, they should be kept in the hospital safe. To arrange for storage in the safe, talk with your nurse.
