Pavilions Project particulars

  • Vending machines have been installed on the Oak level of the parking garage and operate 24 hours a day.
  • The footings for the South Pavilion are deep enough for a man to stand up inside them.
  • As part of Community Hospital’s commitment to the healing environment, nearly 17 acres have been set aside for conservation. Eventually, natural walking paths will be incorporated into the property.
  • A full-scale model of a typical patient room in the Forest Pavilion has been built in a corner of the new Ryan Ranch ancillary building garage to allow staff to evaluate and provide input on the final room design.
  • When all is said and done, the Pavilions Project will have almost 4,000 tons of steel bars buried in the concrete for reinforcement. That’s about the weight of a large locomotive.
  • Speaking of concrete, the Pavilions Project will include 40,000 cubic yards of the hard stuff. Enough, in other words, to fill 14 Olympic-size swimming pools.
  • The South Pavilion will weight about 46,000 tons, or as much as the Queen Mary ocean liner weighs.
