Employee input leads to 10 Community Hospital awards
Denis Waitley, a respected author who has been a consultant to everyone from NASA astronauts to Super Bowl champions, says it’s the most important ingredient of success.
At Community Hospital, it’s the cornerstone of our organization.
What is it? Satisfaction. Employee satisfaction, specifically.
Community Hospital recently received 10 awards from Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC), including top-performer honors for our Employee Empowerment and Total Compensation Package. Based on input from our staff in last year’s employee opinion survey, PRC presented the hospital awards in several categories.

The top-performer awards are given annually to facilities that rank the highest among PRC-surveyed organizations. Scores are based on the percentage of “excellent” responses. Community Hospital was the top-ranked facility out of 51 organizations in the Total Compensation Package category and out of 48 organizations in the Employee Empowerment category.
The 5-star designation is awarded each year to any healthcare organization that scores in the top 10 percent (at or above the 90th percentile), while the 4-star honor goes to those that score between the 75th and 89.9th percentile.
“What our staff thinks and believes matters greatly to our organization,” says Dr. Steven Packer, hospital president/CEO. “Because I firmly believe that patient satisfaction is a product not only of quality care and the hospital’s commitment to the latest technologies, but is also a direct reflection of employee satisfaction.”
And the impact of employee satisfaction extends even further.
“Ensuring that our employees remain engaged, satisfied, and connected is not a luxury,” Packer says. “It not only makes everything inside the hospital run more efficiently, it also allows our community to continue to put its trust in us.”
