Helping you lead a more active life is the mission of the Orthopedic Center of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. From diagnosis to treatment, our multidisciplinary team provides expert, coordinated, and personalized care to produce excellent results, with improved health, increased mobility, and reduced pain.

Physical therapy

Depending on the condition of your joints or your spine, physical therapy can often resolve joint or back pain. We'll take a comprehensive look at your physical condition and your goals, and try to avoid surgery when possible. If surgery is needed, our physical therapists will help you each step of the way. Occupational therapy

Typically, an occupational therapist will work with you to become independent at home and to return to meaningful and purposeful activity.

Joint replacement surgery

Community Hospital's experienced team of orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, physical therapists is committed to keeping you healthy and active. Each year we replace more than 500 hips, knees, and shoulders - more than any other hospital or surgery center in the area. Spine care

Our multidisciplinary approach can help pinpoint the precise reason for your pain. If it is determined that surgery is needed, we have an exceptional team of surgeons, including the only spine fellowship-trained physiatrist in Monterey County.

Community Hospital offers outpatient physical and occupational therapies, pain management, and the latest surgical procedures, ranging from the least invasive to some of the most complex.

We also offer kyphoplasty, a minimally invasive outpatient procedure to repair spinal compression fractures caused by osteoporosis.

A healing environment

If you undergo surgery, you will enjoy a private room with a view, either of our healing garden or the hospital's natural forest surroundings. Each of our patient rooms is equipped with a comfortable daybed so a loved one can stay with you during your recovery.
