Vaccine

Initially, vaccine supplies will be very limited, so the federal and state governments have developed a phased system to guide who should be vaccinated first. It isn’t yet known when the vaccine will be available for the general public, but it has been estimated to be in late spring or early summer.

COVID-19 and testing on the PeninsulaTesting in Monterey County

Testing is available through public and commercial sites in Monterey County, including those listed here. The California Testing Task Force also has a tool to find testing sites near you.

At Community Hospital, we test people who have COVID-19 symptoms as well as all inpatients. We do not currently test for COVID-19 for walk-in community members with no symptoms, due to shortages of test supplies.
