Emilio Quezada

Emilio Quezada, MD

Specialty: Pediatric Cardiology

Dr. Quezada is a pediatric cardiologist who provides care for all forms of congenital heart malformations and rhythm abnormalities. He specializes in prenatal diagnosis of congenital heart disease with fetal echocardiography, using ultrasound to image the fetal heart. His main focus is outpatient evaluation and treatment of congenital heart disease for pediatric patients in the Salinas and Monterey area. Additionally, he diagnoses prenatal heart conditions for expectant couples with suspected or known heart disease. Dr. Quezada counsels parents when congenital heart disease is detected during pregnancy. His goal is empowering families to navigate the challenges of a new prenatal diagnosis. Dr. Quezada’s research examines the aorta in women with Turner syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes multiple medical issues, often including heart defects. He also conducts research in fetal and pediatric echocardiograph. He is involved in local and international clinical teaching initiatives.

Dr. Quezada received his medical degree from Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala, completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, followed by a residency in pediatric cardiology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He also completed a year of advanced training in fetal cardiology and noninvasive cardiac imaging at OHSU and UCSF.
