Dr. Emejuru has been a pediatric psychiatrist with Community Hospital since 2018 and is board-certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. He is also qualified to conduct evaluations for autism spectrum disorder via the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R). Dr. Emejuru trained at the Johns Hopkin Hospital/Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Center for Autism and Related Disorders during his child/adolescent psychiatry fellowship training, and was elected chief fellow. During this experience, Dr. Emejuru gained extensive clinical experience evaluating, diagnosing, and counseling families for autism spectrum disorders. He received his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed an internship in pediatrics at Tulane Hospital for Children in New Orleans, then completed his adult psychiatry residency at George Washington University, Washington D.C., where he was elected chief resident.
