Participate in cancer research study — or tell a friend
What if we could make it so just one family member or friend never has to hear the words, “You have cancer?”
You can help make that happen by enrolling in the American Cancer Society’s 3rd Cancer Prevention Study — or encouraging others to do so.
Enrollment will be taking place in five locations in Monterey County, from September 7-19. Find the locations and make an appointment to enroll at www.cps3MontereyCounty.org. This is the last time people will have the chance to enroll.
About the study
Individuals between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer (except for basal or squamous cell) and are willing to make a long-term commitment to the study are invited to sign up. Those who choose to enroll will simply fill out a comprehensive survey about health history, provide a one-time, small blood sample (to be collected by trained phlebotomists) and provide a waist measurement. Participants will periodically be sent a follow-up questionnaire every 2-3 years for the next 20-plus years.
If you aren’t eligible to participate, you can become a champion for the research effort and make a difference by telling everyone you know about Cancer Prevention Study-3.
