Community Hospital medical staff awards scholarships to 17 outstanding student leaders

MONTEREY, Calif. — Seventeen local students were awarded scholarships by the medical staff of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula at a recognition luncheon.
Students were selected for their academic achievement, good citizenship through contributions to the community and school, and excellence in extracurricular activities such as student government, athletics, music, drama, and service in academic clubs.
Recipients are: seniors Hannah Chee, Hannah Clevenger, Ryan Galloway, Elisa Gonzalez-Smith, Cameron Johnson, Landon Dillon, Joey Luba, Daniel Nuttall, and Seja Saddy; and juniors Madeline Bennett, Gabrielle Garza, Audrey Mustoe, Jacqueline Prager, Victoria Prager, Megan Scannell, Emily Shaheen, and Hanna Shaheen.
Doctors who are members of the medical staff at Community Hospital have provided more than $95,000 in scholarships since establishing the program in 2001.
Members of the scholarship committee and Dr. Steven Packer, Community Hospital’s president/CEO, honored the students at a luncheon at Community Hospital.
