MONTEREY, Calif. — A warm welcome at the hospital front desk, friendly assistance at the Carol Hatton Breast Care Center, a ride to and from a medical appointment, a savory bowl of soup served up at the Fountain Court Café — volunteers make significant, positive impacts on the lives of Community Hospital’s patients and visitors.

During National Volunteer Week, April 10-16, Community Hospital honors and thanks its nearly 700 volunteers, who fill a wide range of roles at the hospital and its off-site locations through the Auxiliary, Hospice of the Central Coast, the Therapy Dog Program, and Chaplain Services.

Receiving special recognition this year are three volunteers who have reached significant milestones: Jay Bartow, 25 years with Chaplain Services, Cynthia Milliorn, 20 years with the Auxiliary, and Barbara Parrish, 20 years with hospice.
