Dr. Craig Christensen receives Physician Recognition Award for dedicated service

MONTEREY, Calif. — Dr. Craig Christensen has been honored with the Physician Recognition Award for 2018 by his peers on the medical staff of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
Christensen was the first gastroenterologist to practice on the Monterey Peninsula and has been on the medical staff at Community Hospital since 1973. He was honored at the annual meeting of the hospital’s medical staff and presented the award by Dr. Gregory Spowart, chief of staff.
“Dr. Christensen has dedicated his life to caring for his patients on the Monterey Peninsula and is respected throughout the medical community,” Spowart said.
After graduating from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Christensen completed his residency and fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
