From concept to completion

Community Hospital's new pavilions are now open for business

It's official: the South and Forest pavilions are now open and serving patients as Community Hospital maintains its commitment to staying at the forefront of quality healthcare.

The South Pavilion - complete with an Emergency department four times the size of the previous department, an ICU that has doubled its capability, and eight state-of-the-art surgery suites - opened October 30, 2006. The South Pavilion effectively centralizes critical-care services for patients while providing room to grow.

The Forest Pavilion - featuring 120 new patient rooms - began accommodating patients March 27, 2007. In doing so, Community Hospital continued a tradition that is more than four decades old. When the current hospital opened its doors in the Del Monte Forest in 1962, it was one of the first hospitals in the country to offer every patient a private room. To this day, Community Hospital is guided by the belief that all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, deserve the same level of care and a private room.

As much as the South and Forest pavilions are about more space and new beds, they're mostly about the care that comes with being a patient at Community Hospital. It's a place where patients receive treatment and continue recovering in a hospital designed to maximize efficiency, accommodate the latest technology, and foster patient healing.
