Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Pink October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Community Hospital is dedicated to helping community members prevent, minimize, and cure the effects of breast cancer for themselves and the ones they love.

8 tips to reduce your risk

  1. Get a mammogram. Talk to your doctor about when to start.
  2. Get active — do things you love.
  3. Limit alcohol. The more alcohol you drink, the greater the risk.
  4. Quit smoking. There’s a link between smoking and breast cancer risk.
  5. Maintain a healthy weight. Being overweight increases the risk of breast cancer.
  6. Breastfeed. It may play a role in breast cancer prevention.
  7. Talk to your doctor about the effects of hormone therapy.
  8. Eat a healthy diet.
new Carol Hatton Breast Care Center

New Carol Hatton Breast Care Center at Ryan Ranch

We’re thrilled to be closer to the opening of the Carol Hatton Breast Care Center at Ryan Ranch. The new center will be about 10,000 square feet, double the size of our current center on Cass Street. That space will enable us to increase access, expanding capacity, and add new technology, all enabling us to continue to provide the best in breast care for our community. We anticipate opening in early 2021.
