Cancer Survivors’ Day 2020

Cancer Survivorship

To our honored cancer survivors,

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the health concerns you, other guests, and volunteers would face, the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula has decided to cancel our annual Cancer Survivors’ Day celebration for 2020.

It pains us to make this decision, as we all look forward to this annual opportunity to celebrate and honor cancer survivors, and we know you value sharing this time with loved ones, other cancer survivors, and the care teams who have supported you through your cancer journey.  However, everyone’s health and safety are our top priority, and a mass gathering of this type is inconsistent with that goal.

Given the uncertainty about what COVID-related CDC, state, and Monterey County restrictions may be in place in August, we need to err on the side of keeping everyone safe. We look forward to hosting our Cancer Survivors’ Day celebration next year.  We have already set the date — Saturday, August 14, 2021 — and reserved the Monterey Peninsula College campus. We hope you will mark it in your calendar and plan to attend. Until then, we wish you good health and that you stay safe.
