Babies born in our Family Birth Center will be given handmade red knit hats to raise awareness of congenital heart defects, the most common birth defect in the United States. Community Hospital is partnering with the American Heart Association in this “Little Hats, Big Hearts” campaign and many of the hats will be knitted by members of the hospital’s Auxiliary. The Family Birth Center routinely screens every newborn for heart defects.
