Balanced Meal

  • Visualize your dinner plate cut into halves
  • Fill half your plate with non-starchy vegetables
  • Divide the other half of your plate into quarters
  • Fill a quarter of your plate with protein (the size of a deck of cards)
  • Fill the other quarter of the plate with a complex carbohydrate or starch
  • Add fruit and/or a glass of lowfat milk to balance the meal
