Kids Eat Right

Building a generation of healthy kids

Kids eat right.

Kids Eat Right (KER) is an initiative from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that supports efforts to end the childhood obesity epidemic within a generation.

One in three kids in the United States is overweight or obese — nearly triple the rate in the 1960s. In Monterey County, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula is committed to reversing that trend.

Kids eat right letterCommunity Hospital has partnered with Kids Eat Right to create a kid-friendly, science-based program for fourth-graders that teaches them to:

  • Cook healthy
  • Be active and exercise
  • Shop smart
  • And eat right

Our goal is to reach as many Monterey County fourth-graders as possible to build a generation of healthy, active kids.

Kids Eat Right

What a parent said about our program

My daughter loved Kids Eat Right. She looked forward to their visits and told us all about it when she got home. My finicky eater now wants black beans in her taco.
