High Altitude Simulation Test (HAST)
60 minute individual appointment
Community Hospital now offers High Altitude Simulation Testing (HAST) through the outpatient Pulmonary Wellness Program. This test will enhance safety for passengers with lung disease when traveling by airplane and/or automobile to high-altitude locations by evaluating their need for supplemental oxygen. As participants breathe into a mask that simulates lower oxygen levels found at high altitude, clinicians closely monitor symptoms, and are able to identify an individual's need for oxygen. You must be in stable respiratory condition and be a non-smoker to participate. We can help you obtain required doctor's referral. The testing may be covered by insurance.
