The ultrasound team is led by Dr. Anthony Filly. Dr. Filly completed a dedicated ultrasound fellowship at University of California, San Francsico, specializing in general and fetal ultrasound. He lectures annually at UCSF's nationally renowned resident board review course and teaches obstetrical ultrasound to residents at Stanford University.
Dr. Filly also performs level 2 obstetrical ultrasounds, which are more advanced obstetrical scans for patients with higher pregnancy-related risks. A level 2 ultrasound is used with patients at higher risk of fetal anomaly or with a specific targeted question from the referring clinician. Community Hospital is the only full-time provider of level 2 ultrasounds on the Monterey Peninsula and is heading up the new nuchal translucency screening program.
At Community Hospital and its satellite facilities, we have seven Siemens S2000 Ultrasound units. These are among the most advanced units available and with innovations from Siemens will likely remain the premier cutting-edge technology in ultrasound for years to come.
