Sleep studies

A doctor's referral is required for all testing at the Sleep Disorders Center.  Your primary care physician may print out and use the referral form. Be sure to list all of your symptoms to enable your primary care doctor to fill out the form completely and accurately. If you prefer to see a sleep disorders specialist prior to or after completing your sleep study, please call us at (831) 649-7210 for additional information.

We test and provide treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), and diagnose many other sleep disorders, including:

  • Narcolepsy
  • Difficulty initiating and maintaining sleep (DIMS)
  • Hypoventilation syndrome
  • Periodic limb movements of sleep

Most sleep disorder services are covered by insurance

The Sleep Disorders Center is part of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, which accepts a wide variety of insurances. Please contact your primary care physician's office or your insurance company for pre-authorization before you schedule your sleep study. We perform both in lab studies as well as studies in your own home.

Information for mask fitting/desensitization session

If you are using PAP therapy, and are experiencing difficulty with your mask fitting properly ask your physician to refer you to the sleep center for a troubleshooting session. Please bring your mask, headgear and machine with you to your appointment. You do not need to bring your humidification chamber, if you use one.
