BLS – Instructor-led classes are for healthcare professionals seeking to complete an initial or renewal BLS course.
The BLS course for Healthcare Providers trains healthcare participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED.
In this 4 hour instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete skills practice and sills testing. Students also complete a written exam.
The course fee includes a manual which will be provided at class.
PLEASE NOTE: Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a BLS for Healthcare Provider certification eCard, which meets the minimum standards for employees needing BLS Healthcare Provider status as part of their job requirements. If you have questions about the definition of a Healthcare Provider or which class you should take, please contact your employer or the Community Hospital Educational Services office.
